Genomics Lite: Bacterial Population Genomics

Exploring the genomics behind bacterial population dynamics

Date:

Thu 26th Jan, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

About the session:

Understanding how bacteria evolve is fundamental to the development of effective vaccines and antibiotics, protecting humans against harmful pathogens. In this session you will learn about how DNA and genomics is at the heart of this and how it can be used to globally survey bacterial populations. Our guest speaker is Ana Ferreira, a postdoctoral fellow in the Parasites and Microbes programme at the Wellcome Sanger Institute
