What can your genetic data tell us about you? Explore how DNA analysis helps shed light on our past, present and maybe even our future through a range of hands-on activities. You can unravel the structure of DNA with our sequence bracelets and pit yourself against a DNA sequencing machine. We’ll be comparing your genetic characteristics with other visitors by seeing which smells and tastes your genes enable you to detect. You can also look at our primate relatives and decide who are our closest ancestors.
The Wellcome Genome Campus Public Engagement team and scientists from the EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute and Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute will be on hand to help you with the activities and talk about their research on genomics.
The EMBL European Bioinformatics Institute and Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute are both on the Wellcome Genome Campus near the village of Hinxton, south of Cambridge. The Campus is home to some of the world’s foremost Institutes and organisations in genomics and computational biology, committed to delivering life-changing science with the reach, scale and imagination to solve some of humanity’s greatest challenges.
