Sat 17th Nov, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
On the third Saturday of every month join us at the Wellcome Genome Campus. Each month there is an afternoon of activity, and something fun for everyone! There’s a chance to visit our exhibition and get stuck into science with some hands-on activities. You will also have the chance to join a guide for a visit to Open Lab, an exciting new space on campus for you to discover more about our history and the cutting-edge research that happens today. Everyone is welcome, though we recommend Open Lab for ages 10 and up.
Until April 2019 you can visit Curious Nature, an interactive exhibition for all the family. The exhibition explores the Wellcome Sanger Institute’s 25 Genomes project; sequencing 25 UK species for the first time. Discover what we could uncover and get curious about nature!
The event cafe will be open, selling a range of drinks and small snacks. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch with you too.
Antibiotic Awareness Week
It is Antibiotic Awareness Week on 12th – 18th November and to mark the occasion we have some special themed activities at our November Open Saturday! Chat to some of our researchers working on antibiotic resistance, find out how proteins and antibiotics interact, explore the programme we use to track the spread of antibiotic resistance and help us to sort out our cuddly microbes.
Open Saturdays are FREE for everyone but booking is required. Just hit the “Book now” button above.
