We are now in the era of Big Data. DNA and medical information is being donated, accessed and shared by clinicians and researchers around the world every second. Your DNA is more personal to you than an iris scan or a fingerprint. Would you donate your DNA for use by others? What would they do with it? What are the potential benefits and harms to you and society of sharing your genetic data? This event will explore what is happening with donation of DNA samples and access to genetic data. We’ll be using a series of quirky films to introduce the issues and then exploring your views through interactive discussions. You’ll get to share your thoughts and compare them with the views from our large study of the British public.
