We describe yourgenome as a place where everyone can “Discover more about DNA, genes and genomes, and the implications for our health and society”. We built it as a trustworthy source of information, both interesting and varied enough to inform, entertain, and kick-start some lively conversations.
The site now pulls in millions of visitors every year, and the brand has a healthy presence across the rest of the web. We’ve made thousands of friends on our Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest accounts, and have racked up over forty years worth of viewing time on our videos! We’re very proud.
A lot of people contribute to yourgenome’s ongoing success: campus scientists, providing the knowledge and expertise to keep us on the cutting edge; external filmmakers and photographers helping to develop our resources; our in-house design and development team; and especially the visitors to the site, who help shape and inform everything we do.
